Emoji – Part 1

Linguists are still debating if emoji can be called a language or if they will ever have the chance to become a language.

Nevertheless, at tsd we think that this special way of communication is worth mentioning in our category of alternative communication.

Of course, communication is much more than just the language we speak. It also contains a lot of mimicry, gestures and changes in tone to emphasize what we are saying. We use all these tools subconsciously to make sure that our counterpart understands what we mean and does not misinterpret our words.

In the real world we can easily show our emotions but when it comes to texting, emailing or posting, we need a tool to help reveal ourselves. This is why people use emoji for online communication.
