Emoji – Part 3

Some people only answer with emoji and do not use any words in their reply. Wouldn’t that imply emoji is a language?

Well, the problem we are facing is that emoji can be written in any order. There is no grammar telling us how to combine different emoji. Instead we add together all the fitting emoji that we want to use. But grammar is an essential part of languages, making them flexible and unique for everyone to use.

Regardless of whether emoji can officially be called a language or not – we like using emoji and wouldn’t mind including them in our portfolio of languages that we offer to translate. 😉
