International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict
Every year the 6th November is marked as the “International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict”. There have been many wars in history and many more today. In order to represent the disastrous consequences of war, statistics show how many people have died or how many homes have been destroyed. But what about Mother Nature? It’s no secret that bombing also destroys our environment – but how much do we really care? Our earth is what we live off – farmers grow their crops, animals eat the plants and we build our homes on it. It truly is a cruel part of war that we should definitely remember in order to bring about change.
