Pig Latin Part 4


As the last part of our topic Pig Latin, we will write about references to it.

Unlike what one would expect, even good old Shakespeare made a reference to Pig Latin in his work “Love´s Labor´s Lost”, where he calls it “false Latin”. But not only had the well-known poet referred to Pig Latin, even Edgar Allan Poe hinted at it when he called it “Pig Greek”.

These references could be seen as proof of the long existence of Pig Latin.
